Joseph Altuzarra, Pamela Love, Shane Gabier, and Christopher Peters

At the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund dinner held at the Skylight SoHo in NYC, Joseph Altuzarra was declared to be the leading light of the night winning $300,000 en route to expand his brand (Altuzarra). Pamela Love and the designers of Creatures of the Wind were runners up, winning $100,000 each. There were also few recognized celebrities who came to support like Olivia Wilde wearing Cushnie et Ochs who happened to be the contenders as well, Amanda Seyfried in Prabal Gurung (the last year's winner), and Rooney Mara in Calvin Klein.

I think it was so amazing of the people of CFDA and Vogue to create this thoughtful support for future designers. It would surely mean a promising dream for them to continue and improve their talent and vision to create more wonderful garments.

And lastly, this event also proved that fashion is not about glitz and glamour. Fashion is hard work and an uphill struggle to improve on.
