BALMAIN SPRING 2012 | ROUSTEING'S BIG MOMENT

PARIS FASHION WEEK

I'm so much in love with that baby blue trousers. Sadly, I don't have to thank Christophe this time. It should be Olivier Rousteing that I'm referring to.

I was also taken aback when Christophe Decarnin departed to be a head designer of Balmain last February. Well, looking at the brighter side, five years is not bad enough to prove that he incredibly originate a different twist and success in Balmain. His biker jackets studded with safety pins last season was still remarkable and visible in my memory. Take a look at one below...

  Fierce.

So I think this time around, having worked with Christophe for two years, considering his age 25, (still young for some to put him on BALMAIN). Rousteing surprisingly gave us a fresh vision, geometric necklines and interesting details in his show. However, you can distinguish on Christophe's protege that there's still his influence on some of his pieces. Nevertheless, Rousteing's shipshape and simple sensibility helped to set the collection into a winning combination.

Big forward for him.
