EVERYTHING'S EQUAL

Prada Spring 2013 Menswear
Milan Fashion Week

If last season’s collection was all about studded and printed short-sleeved shirts, vibrant golfer shoes and printed trousers, this time around, Prada’s Spring 2013 collection was a total contradictory. But that didn’t indicate Miuccia’s amend on her artistic power. Instead, she consciously pulled through and pointed toward equality on both sexual characteristics even on the aged generation.

To point at, uniformity and similitude was the enlightening tale of her show. From color-blocking polo shirts in different color palettes like blue, grey, and burgundy, the exaggerated proportions on blazers, and few fur pieces seemed the catching feature of these unisex crowd. In connection with that, sandals from beginning to end also came into view that was just ideal on the purpose and drive of Miuccia’s inspiration.

Thus, as she insisted to reveal that “Simplicity is repetitive and equal": male and female (old and young) strutted down the runway where the atmosphere of minimalism and athleticism was established. In that case, headbands and borders around neckline, on the inside leg, and hem could involve Prada’s rule on this collection. It became her decorative elements where the people were surprised because of the plainness that she showed.

ZEGNA SILK PROJECT

Ermenegildo Zegna Spring 2013 Menswear
Milan Fashion Week

No man could ever spend his summer without considering tropical banana and mango leaves as his motif. Spotting these pattern on shirts and slim trousers on Zegna’s models, Anna Zegna, granddaughter of Ermenegildo, established a silky and fine-looking collection.

Her show was conquered by palette of mannish colors all in sapphire, wine-red, cream, and bronze. Silhouettes were sharply tailored so as to prove that jackets with bold shoulders, perforated knit polos, and high-waist pants with sewn up pleats entails that a Zegna man is nothing but sleek and classy.

As the show was set out in 30-piece collection dominated by silk fabrics sighted commonly on shirts, Anna Zegna brooded over that the textile is “The cashmere of summer”.

RESEMBLING FACADES ON FALL WINTER 2012 | MENSWEAR

                                         Moschino                                                           Jean Paul Gaultier
                                         Hermes                                                           Calvin Klein Collection

One of the most important thing on a collection is the identicalness of the clothes and its details. But we can't erase the fact that some designers don't intend to have the similarity of their patterns with other designers. However, the challenge is, it's up for their consumers to decide what to wear.

So who do you pick?

BURBERRY PRORSUM SPRING SUMMER 2012 | MILAN FASHION WEEK

Christopher Bailey made a memorable lineup of 46 collections. Bobble caps in woven raffia and suede mocs in woven cork-soled piled up the runway which I incredibly and personally love! The appealing music of Muse added an attractive image to the Burberry men. There were more textures, colors and wonderful prints. One of my favorite shows as of the moment!
